Toottoot Bahn
A few pictures to show the layout at the home of toottoot.co.nz. This layout to very much at the early stages of construction and the "Do I really like it like this?" stage. This was written over 10 years ago! This layout no longer exists.
I prefer a design mix of overall objectives with minimal paper plan followed by "just lay the tracks man!" technique.
The overall objectives are:
- Two main loops for long train running.
- Two other loops for more interesting running involving smaller and slower trains incorporating single line operation.
- Fun for me and fun for those who visit to play with it all, which means operational safety so my loco's don't get hurt - not forgetting the little people ;).
All the resource consents have been obtained, hence there has been an explosion of construction in village "Ansicht". The digger a.k.a jigsaw has been working on the mountain to the right of the Ansicht.
The left end of the Ansicht. The buildings are in their final location unless I change them :).
The other end of the village, shows the church up high on the "Wenig Hügel".
The "middle earth" of the mountain.
Another view of "middle earth".
This picture shows a bridge going over the top of a tunnel mouth. The tunnel mouth is part of Auhagen 11342 kit. This product comes with the "sides" you see.
Class 41 and Class 74. The Class 74 has suffered under my childhood play years.
Class 41 is helping to build the loco service area.
Some of the loco's that run on the layout - all lined up for a photo shoot.
A MFX decoder fitted into an older P38. The decoder's size is half that of a Reversing Unit.
